Matt Siber Instagram Takeover – January 2020

From January 7th to January 10th, Matt Siber took over the CPS Lives Instagram to show the work he has been creating during his residency at Pritzker Elementary. We are proud to present those images to you now on the website, apart of the CPS Lives Digital Archive!

Project Overview

Matt Siber is currently photographing at Pritzker Elementary in the Wicker Park neighborhood, documenting the hallways, recess, and other obtuse objects in an otherwise “regular” school. Matt is interested in belittling himself to make his subjects – usually not even teenagers yet – feel confident and bold in front of the camera. Matt has found an interesting pocket for himself in the Pritzker community; becoming the “celebrity-school-photographer”, he now is able to provoke a certain “swagger” from his many subjects. This is apparent in his current work through our residency.
