Associate Director (Full-Time)
Role Summary: The Associate Director for CPS Lives will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the organization’s mission and goals. This role will be responsible for general operations, board stewardship, assisting with identifying and stewarding individual and corporate donors, as well as grant writing, fundraising, and event planning.
Fundraising and Events (50%)
+Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes individual and corporate giving, grant writing, and fundraising events
+ Plan and execute one major fundraiser at least 2 smaller, targeted fundraising events each year
+ Manage registration list and ticketing for each event, working to ensure a positive guest experience
+ Work directly with individual and corporate sponsors to coordinate giving and benefits
+ Ensure sponsor recognition throughout all stages of the event
+ Initiative and collaborate on related marketing materials
Grant Writing (20%)
+ Develop and maintain relationships with foundation and government grant-making entities to secure funding opportunities
+Research grant opportunities and manage grant application timelines from data collection to submission to reporting
+Maintain an active grant portfolio and strive to be working on minimum of 2 grants per month
Donor Stewardship (10%)
+ Identify, cultivate, and steward individual and corporate donors to secure major gifts, sponsorships, and partnerships.
+ Manage donor database, track progress towards fundraising goals, and prepare regular reports on fundraising activities including a monthly overview of donations and an annual report
Administration and Operations (20%)
+Identify and clarify organizational needs in collaboration with board and staff
+Develop and manage organization’s budget in collaboration with Executive director
+Produce financial reports and identify areas for growth
+Create methods of sustainable data collectionServe as staff secretary to the Board, taking minutes at Board and Executive Committee meetings
+ Develop and manage stewardship of the Board including recruiting new board members, onboarding new Board members, and managing communications with all Board members
+ Oversee all gift processing and acknowledgment letters and receipt
+ In collaboration with Executive Director and Artistic Director, oversee budget allocation and implementation
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. non-profit management, fundraising, business administration). ✦ Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit management, with demonstrated success in major gift fundraising and grant writing.✦ Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ✦ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with donors, board members, and colleagues.✦ Experience managing donor databases and tracking fundraising progress.✦ Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.✦ Knowledge of and passion for the arts and public education in Chicago. ✦ Experience writing grants and managing a portfolio of grants. ✦ Experience with accounting software / QuickBooks preferred.
